Back to School BASH & 1st Friday Family Movie Night Featuring Jungle Cruise – Face Painting – Balloon Artist – Kids Crafts – Yard Games & More
Leeds announces an exciting Back to School BASH & 1st Friday Family Movie Night scheduled for Friday, August 5 beginning at 6:00 pm in downtown Leeds at the corner of Parkway Drive and 8th Street next to Leeds Jane Culbreth Library.
The celebration STARTS at 6PM with fun activities: yard games, balloon artist (sponsored by Mills Pharmacies), face painting, kids crafts (sponsored by The Wooden Anchor) food trucks and more!!!! THEN…at 8PM (dusk), this month’s FREE MOVIE – Jungle Cruise begins! (PG-13)
FOOD: The Three Earred Rabbit will be open until 8PM and Food Trucks will be here beginning at 6PM!
*Three Earred Rabbit will serve a fabulous Spaghetti & Meatballs Special (as well as their regular menu)
*Reba’s Weiner Wagon (hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, dill pickles, chips, and drinks)
*Cricket’s Sweet Treats (shaved iced and ice cream)
*Leeds Fire Department will make a special appearance
This special event is brought to you by Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, Leeds Redevelopment Authority and Leeds Jane Culbreth Library.
Please note that the concrete parking lot downtown will close early so the event team can begin setting up for the movie night event. Anyone utilizing the parking lot should move their car by 5:00 p.m.
Here’s the Event Schedule:
5:00 p.m. – Concrete Parking Lot will close on 8th & Parkway
6:00 p.m. – Food Trucks will set up on 8th & Parkway
6-8 pm – Food trucks, yard games, face painting, balloon artist and more!
8:00 p.m. – All yard games, face painting and balloon artist conclude to get ready for the movie
8:00 p.m. – (or sundown) – movie begins!
This event is FREE with FREE parking so be sure to bring your lawn chairs (your family and your friends) and plan to enjoy a great outdoor evening in Leeds. Begin your weekend with a great Back to School Bash and outdoor movie, delicious food and tasty treats as we build community in the City of Leeds, Alabama!

P.S.  We have a really big event coming up Friday, August 5th for the entire family.  The library has teamed up with Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and Leeds Redevelopment Authority for a big Back to School Bash and 1st Friday Family Movie Night!  No reservations required!  Just bring your lawn chairs, plan to have dinner with either Three Earred Rabbit or food trucks provided – Reba’s Weiner Wagon and Crickett’s Sweet Treats!  Here’s the schedule:

6:00  pm – Food trucks begin (Three Earred Rabbit will be open until 8p)
6:00-8:00 pm – Face painting, balloon artist, yard games and plenty of fun!
8:00 pm – Outdoor movie begins (Jungle Cruise)

It’s going to be a fabulous outdoor family night together!!!
